BASS: Bloomsbury Academic Study Skills for Students

The Bloomsbury Academic Study SKills for Students (BASSS) group provides an opportunity for staff who support students with academic study skills to meet and connect. Colleagues are invited to share experiences, learn new methodologies, and generally improve practice. Meetings are conducted in a safe space and are generally not recorded, affording attendees the security to speak freely and gain mutual guidance and advice. Past topics have included an understanding of what is meant by study skills, managing challenging student behaviour and preparing students for exams.

Typical participants: learning development and support colleagues

"I’ve found the BLE community to be an incredibly welcoming and inclusive group. Our meetings provide a great opportunity to connect with local colleagues who may be navigating similar experiences and challenges in their work. Sarah and the team have created a supportive and valuable learning environment that not only encourages open dialogue and the exchange of practical information but can also spark thoughtful reflection and fresh ideas."
