Jessica Gramp is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with a background in multimedia development. She has worked to support staff and students using Moodle for over 12 years in primary schools, high schools and higher education in both Australia and the UK. Interests include accessibility and e-assessment. |
Deborah Grange
Deborah Grange is a Senior Learning Development Tutor (Technology Enhanced Learning), based in the Centre for Transformative Practice in Learning and Teaching at Birkbeck. She works with both staff and students at Birkbeck, and contributes to the PGCE:HE. She has a portfolio of interests including flexible and blended learning, innovative assessment techniques, and the use of technology to enhance the academic skills of students with Specific Learning Difficulties. Deborah has a PhD in cognitive psychology from Birkbeck, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology and a Chartered Psychologist. |
Steve Hirons
Steve Hirons is a lecturer in Mineralogy and Petrology at Birkbeck, University of London. Steve is passionate about teaching and incorporates technology-enhanced pedagogies within his teaching modules. His long-term support and development of e-learning media and technologies has enabled the development of degree and certificate programs via distance/flexible-learning routes. More recently he has been using lecture capture software to stream his lectures ‘live’ whilst also teaching face-to-face students at the same time, something which he believes is a very exciting development. |
Charlotte Lawson
Charlotte Lawson is a senior lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College and course director for their BSc/MSci biosciences programmes. As part of her role she seeks to find innovative ways to help students develop their employability and professional skills so that they are able to realise their potential after Graduation |
Tim Neumann
Tim Neumann is a Lecturer in Education & Technology and Head of the Learning Technologies Unit at the UCL Institute of Education, based at the UCL Knowledge Lab. His work includes the promotion and support of technology use in higher education, and his research interests focus on web conferencing, e-learning pedagogy and distance education. With a previous 10-year career as music & event producer and broadcast industry trainer, Tim has significant experience in media production and large-scale events. |
Stephen Ogden
Stephen Ogden is the Head of Learning Technology at the International Academy within the University of London. With his team he manages the provision of flexible and distance learning technology services to many University of London Member Institutions and to over 50,000 students worldwide. |
Sonya Powney
Sonya Powney joined The Royal Veterinary College in 1996 and has produced a range of interactive multimedia programs for undergraduates and vets in practice (see examples of Sonya's work). She currently focuses on working with academics to create tutorials, quizzes, simulations and case studies to support student learning. Her skills include project management, instructional design, multimedia, programming, usability testing and online assessment. |
Sophie Pullen
Sophie Pullen is an Academic Development Tutor at the Royal Veterinary College. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Sophie draws upon her experience and knowledge to support students on a range of courses. She enjoys being able to apply her understanding of the veterinary world to help students reach their academic potential. With a particular interest in learning differences, Sophie is keen to engage with new and emerging assistive technologies to enhance the student experience and provide an inclusive learning environment. |
Simon Rofe
Dr J Simon Rofe is Reader in Diplomatic and International Studies in the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy and the Academic Head of Online Learning; Further is the Programme Director for MA Global Diplomacy, at SOAS University of London, and instructor for Coursera's Understanding Research Methods MOOC. His research focuses upon diplomacy, international and global history, with a particular focus upon on the US Embassy in London, and the diplomacy of sport. He is the author of a number of books and academic articles including a number on Online learning. |
Kathy Seddon
Until 2010, Dr Kathy Seddon worked as an elearning specialist at the National College for Teaching and Leadership. Kathy holds a number of honorary positions including Honorary Fellow at Exeter University, Chair of the Welsh Association of Churchill Fellows' and Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts. She has a wide ranging CV, which includes presentations at many national and international conferences including the Royal Society. Kathy's work has been published in numerous peer reviewed e-learning journals and she has produced reports for many organisations including the Department for Education. |
Jo Stroud
Jo Stroud is a Distance Learning Facilitator in UCL Digital Education, having previously led the technology enhanced learning team at LSHTM. Her primary interests include open educational practices, digital learning for individuals in low- and middle-income settings, and media enhanced feedback. |
Hifzah Tariq
From 2012 to 2015 Hifzah Tariq worked as a Faculty Officer for the Faculty of Languages and Cultures at SOAS, working with undergraduate students on all aspects of their student life. She now woks at the University of Greenwich within the research and enterprise hub, for the Faculty of Architecture, Computing and Humanities, supporting research students, promoting Faculty research and assisting in events and enterprise activities. |
Mira Vogel
Mira Vogel works as a Digital Education Advisor at UCL, particularly involved with arts, humanities, social and historical sciences, languages and laws. She is drawn to open technologies and practices, with areas of interest include attention, multimodality, collaboration (including Wiki*edia), peer assessment and assessment feedback. As Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy she works closely with educational development colleagues in the UCL Arena Centre to design, run and assess programmes leading to HEA fellowship. She mentors and assesses for Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology. |
Sultan Wadud
Sultan Wadud works as an E-Learning Officer at SOAS, University of London and has over 10 years’ experience across five London universities acquiring a wide range of skills, understanding and insight into the workings of Higher Education. In addition he holds a degree in IT and a Masters in Internet Computing and Business Environment. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Certified Member of ALT (CMALT). |
Nancy Weitz
Dr Nancy Weitz is a Digital Learning Specialist at her company, Architela. As an academic, she worked with learning technologies from the very beginning. She now develops strategies, designs programmes, conducts reviews, facilitates, trains and does hands-on development for universities and the public sector. She works closely with the Bloomsbury Learning Environment on a range of e-learning projects. |
Lynn Welchman
Lynn Welchman is Professor of Law in the Middle East and North Africa in SOAS, where she joined the School of Law after many years working in international human rights in the Middle East. She convenes the SOAS International Human Rights Clinic, where the students use Project Diaries to map and reflect on their progress |
